How to Place Your Order
Ordering flowers should be a straightforward process. You have several options to ensure your request is processed efficiently. Most customers prefer either calling the shop directly or visiting the physical location to see the flowers in person.
Ordering by Phone
Calling (619) 460-3777 is often the most effective way to get exactly what you want. When you call, be prepared to provide the recipient’s name, delivery address, and a brief message for the enclosure card. You can also ask the florist about the “Designer’s Choice” option, which allows the expert to use the freshest available blooms within your budget.
In-Person Consultations
For larger events like weddings or corporate gatherings, visiting the shop at 7885 University Ave is recommended. This allows you to look at portfolios, feel the texture of the flowers, and discuss color palettes in detail. Meeting the staff helps build trust and ensures that every detail of your event is planned to perfection.
Understanding Business Hours and Delivery
Before placing an order, it is important to check the current operating hours. While hours can vary based on holidays and seasons, the shop generally operates on a standard weekday schedule with limited hours on Saturdays. They are typically closed on Sundays, except for major floral holidays like Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day.
Delivery Logistics
Local delivery is a hallmark of a quality florist. When you order from a shop in La Mesa, you can expect the flowers to be transported in climate-controlled vehicles to maintain freshness. It is helpful to place your order at least 24 hours in advance, especially for timed deliveries or specific flower requests. For same-day delivery, calling before noon is usually required.
Caring for Your Fresh Delivery
Once the flowers arrive, proper care is necessary to maximize their lifespan. Even the freshest blooms require a little maintenance to stay vibrant. Follow these simple steps to keep your arrangement looking its best for as long as possible.
- Water Levels: Check the water level daily. Flowers consume a surprising amount of water, especially in the first few days.
- Trimming Stems: Every few days, trim about half an inch off the bottom of the stems at a 45-degree angle. This allows the flowers to hydrate more effectively.
- Environment: Keep the arrangement in a cool spot away from direct sunlight, heating vents, and drafty areas.
- Cleanliness: If the water becomes cloudy, change it entirely and clean the vase to remove bacteria.
